WHEREAS, the annual observance of the National Statistics Month (NSM) is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month;
WHEREAS, the annual celebration of the NSM aims to: (a) promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to different sectors of the society; and (b) elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country;
WHEREAS, the theme for the 34th NSM is “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for Healthy Philippines;
WHEREAS, the Regional Statistics Committee being the highest policymaking body on statistical matters in the region has been designated as the coordinating body for all NSM activities in the region;
WHEREAS, in preparation for the celebration, Memorandum No. 23RSSO178616 was issued to member agencies;
WHEREAS, the member agencies submitted their proposed activities and the secretariat consolidated the activities for the 34th NSM celebration:
NOW, THEREFORE, ON A MOTION DULY SECONDED, be it
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, That the RSC MIMAROPA approves and adopts the 34th National Statistics Month calendar of activities;
RESOLVED FINALLY, That all the concerned regional line agencies, local government units, and public and private higher education institutions, be copied with this resolution for information and support;
UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.
