WHEREAS, Article I of PSA Board Resolution No. 05, s. 2015, provides for the establishment of Regional Statistics Committees (RSCs) in the region;

WHEREAS, RSCs shall serve as the policymaking body on statistical matters and shall serve as the venue for discussion and resolution of statistical issues at the local level;

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 10625, s. 2013, known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, mandates the Philippine Statistics Authority to coordinate with government departments and local government units (LGUs) on the promotion and adoption of statistical standards involving techniques, methodologies, concepts, definitions and classifications and on avoidances of duplication in the collection of statistical information;

WHEREAS, there is a need to establish City Statistics Committe (CiSC) to allow LGUs to exercise autonomy in carrying out their functions and responsibilities, and in making decisions to address statistical and technical issues at the city level;

WHEREAS, CiSC shall serve as the policymaking body on statistical matters at the city level to formulate statistical policies designed to resolved local statistical issues and recommends a workable scheme to government entities to improve city-level statistics;

WHEREAS, the City Statistics Committee of Puerto Princesa may include the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) as members of the committee, in addition to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office;

NOW, THEREFORE, ON A MOTION DULY SECONDED, be it

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that RSC MIMAROPA requests the City of Puerto Princesa to establish a City Statistics Committee.
