19 March 2025, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro. The Philippine Statistics Authority – Occidental Mindoro greenlights the conduct of the First Quarter Aquaculture Survey (QAqS) and the Quarterly Inland Fisheries  Survey (QIFS) for 2025.

The Quarterly Aquaculture Survey (QAqS) is a quarterly survey that generates aquaculture production and area estimates. This aims to generate accurate and timely information on quarterly production, area and price by aquafarm type and species at the provincial level.
The Quarterly Inland Fisheries Survey (QIFS) is a survey on volume and price of fish, by species caught by the households engaged in inland fishing. The general objective of QIFS is to generate information on quarterly volume and value of inland fish catch by species at the provincial, regional and national levels.

PSO Occidental Mindoro trained the eight (8) hired Statistical Researchers in preparation of the conduct of fisheries survey in the province. Data collection for the QAqs and QIFS will be conducted every third and fourth week of the quarter and will be conducted through face-to-face interview using the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) System.

In line with this, the PSO Occidental Mindoro encourage the sample households to actively participate and provide accurate information and data to the authorized statistical researchers of the PSA. All the data obtained during the data collection will be treated confidential and will not be used for taxation or investigation purposes.
