WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 10625 states that the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shall be primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys, including sectoral statistics, consolidation of administrative recording systems, and compilation of national accounts;
WHEREAS, the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) aim to present a comprehensive picture of the provincial economies by providing a more appropriate measure and assessment of a province’s economic performance and will serve as an important tool in economic planning and policy formulation at the subregional levels to supplement the gross domestic product at the national and regional levels;
WHEREAS, in 2021, PSA MIMAROPA started to compile and estimate the economic performance of its provinces and one highly urbanized city;
WHEREAS, in 2025, PSA MIMAROPA will estimate the 2022 to 2024 economic performance of the five provinces and one highly urbanized city in the region; and,
WHEREAS, in line with the estimation of the PPA, administrative data will also be collected from private sectors, government agencies including the local government units ;
NOW, THEREFORE, ON A MOTION DULY SECONDED, be it
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, That Committee requests government agencies, local government units , and the private sector in MIMAROPA to support the generation of the 2022 to 2024 Provincial Product Accounts in the region; and,
RESOLVED FINALLY, That all agencies concerned be copied of this resolution for information.
